Hollie Harper’s PLAYGROUP

Created by writer-director Hollie Harper, The PLAYGROUP is a 16-week creative actors workshop based on the idea that “just as play is the work of children, so it is of the actor.” PLAYGROUP began in 2008 bringing theater games, scene study, technique and movement exercises to a diverse group of students. Harper’s goal is to give the actor a well-rounded immersion in acting technique that culminates with the production of an original play. PLAYGROUP 3 produced Harper’s original play I’m Still Here and students appear in the behind the scenes web series The Play’s The Thing which documents the journey of new acting students as they learn what it really takes to be an actor.

Next workshop begins Wednesday, September 8, 2010
